If humidity indicator cards are to be reused or stored long-term after use, measures such as sealing, moisture protection, and protection from light must be taken to ensure their performance stability and prevent premature failure.
Key Points for Post-Use Storage
Immediate Sealing
Unused humidity indicator cards should be immediately returned to their original packaging container (such as a metal can or aluminum foil bag) and tightly sealed to prevent continuous exposure to air, which can lead to moisture absorption and discoloration.
Store with Desiccant
Store the humidity indicator cards together with desiccant to ensure a dry internal environment. It is recommended to place an appropriate amount of desiccant in each can or bag to absorb any moisture that may seep in.
Desiccant Replacement Frequency
Replace the desiccant after the original packaging has been opened a total of three times to maintain a low humidity environment and prevent the cards from becoming damp and ineffective.
Control the Storage Environment
The storage environment should be kept dry and cool, with a relative humidity below 50% and a recommended temperature between 15–30℃. Avoid direct sunlight, water immersion, or high temperature and humidity environments.
Avoid touching the indicator dots.
Do not touch the indicator dots on the card directly with your hands during operation. Sweat or oil on the skin may cause local discoloration, affecting the accuracy of subsequent judgments.
